Term newborn transition: protect the quiet start

Educational use only. Not clinically reviewed

0-year-old girl for normal-transition recognition, qualified protective-care review, reassessment, and active-risk handoff practice. About 6 simulated minutes.

What you will practise

  • Activate prepared newborn and parent-dyad support.
  • Connect gestation, birth, breathing, tone, heart rate, temperature, and the whole dyad.
  • Recognize normal term transition without resuscitation or well-newborn closure.
  • Review qualified cord, skin-to-skin, thermal, and observation care.
  • Review the fixed 1-hour qualified-team report.
  • Hand off breathing, temperature, feeding, parent, and outcome risk.
