Neonatal apnea: ventilation is the priority

Educational use only. Not clinically reviewed

0-year-old boy for ventilation-threshold recognition, qualified response review, reassessment, and active-risk handoff practice. About 6 simulated minutes.

What you will practise

  • Activate qualified newborn, airway, clock, and dyad support.
  • Connect gestation, birth clock, breathing, heart rate, tone, temperature, and the whole dyad.
  • Recognize the neonatal apnea ventilation threshold without cause or outcome closure.
  • Review qualified effective ventilation, heart-rate response, and escalation readiness.
  • Review the fixed 90-second qualified-team response report.
  • Hand off respiratory, thermal, glucose, neurologic, parent, and outcome risk.
