Complete heart block

Educational use only. Not clinically reviewed

76-year-old woman for Urgent monitored evaluation and pacing-pathway handoff. About 8 simulated minutes.

What you will practise

  • Reconcile the fixed complete-AV-block report, mechanical pulse, recent presyncope, and current whole-patient stability.
  • Review the fixed reversible, physiologic, ischemic, infectious, toxic, medication, procedural, and structural context without declaring a cause.
  • Promptly activate cardiology/electrophysiology and monitored pacing-capable care with a deterioration contingency.
  • After elapsed time, reassess the fixed persistent complete block, pulse, perfusion, and acute-change triggers.
  • Record guideline-supported permanent-pacing evaluation, shared decisions, owner, and handoff.
