Delayed emergence differential
Educational use only. Not clinically reviewed69-year-old woman for Laparoscopic right hemicolectomy. About 6 simulated minutes.
What you will practise
- Preserve the airway and review ventilation, oxygenation, circulation, and temperature first.
- Reconcile anesthetic, opioid, benzodiazepine, and neuromuscular-blockade evidence without anchoring on one category.
- Check glucose, ventilation, sodium, and temperature as bounded reversible categories.
- Perform a focused neurologic examination when common recorded causes do not explain the pattern.
- Escalate the new lateralizing pattern urgently while continuing airway support.
